Why is Gut Health Important?

In simple terms, your gut health affects your entire body. It is important to know the signs of an imbalanced digestive tract and what you can do to improve it! Some Common Causes of an Unhealthy Gut include: 
  • Poor Diet- Stay away from processed foods, excessive alcohol, sugars, and fried foods.
  • Antibiotics-  being exposed to too many antibiotics will kill away the good bacteria in your gut, which will impact brain function, cell production, energy levels and so much more. Talk to your doctor about taking a probiotic if you need to be on an antibiotic for longer periods of time.
  • Stress and Sleep- Studies have shown that stress and poor sleeping habits can lead to gut permeability (leaky gut) along with stagnant/poor digestion, heartburn and acid reflex.
